Next to the Advance Funeral Planning Professionals who "make it happen" and the Regional Development Directors who encourage, motivate, and support them, the executive leadership team is our most valuable asset. We believe an important key element in determining the future success of our company is the strength, courage, foresight and proven ability of this team. 

Meet Our Leadership Team

Founder is Mr. Charles W. Anderson of Springboro, Ohio. Charles formal funeral service education began at a young age, growing up above the family funeral home and assisting whenever and wherever called upon. Charles is a graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, Cincinnati, Ohio. He has attended, coordinated, and lead many Sales & Management Seminars and Workshops over the course of his tenured, distinguished career. Charles is the owner of Anderson Funeral Homes, Franklin and Springboro, Ohio. He has received many funeral industry awards and accolades for team leadership, innovation, personal and management success and achievement. He is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Ohio and Kentucky and holds an Ohio Life Insurance license. He serves his community through involvement on the Board of Trustees for the Abilities First Foundation; former president, Hospice of Middletown, Ohio Advisory Board; past president, Rotary Club; and former school board member and president, Springboro City Schools. He serves on the Alumni Board for Transylvania University, Lexington, Kentucky.

Chief Executive Officer and President is Mr. Tyler B. Anderson of Springboro, Ohio. Tyler is directly responsible for the vision of the company as well as the day to day operations. Tyler joined The Outlook Group, Inc. in 2004. Early in his career he served as an Advance Funeral Planning Professional (AFPP) at a notable family owned and operated funeral home in Greater Chicago. He was also the Regional Development Director of the Wisconsin/Greater Chicago region.  His outstanding leadership in this region resulted in a doubling of total sales and a substantial expansion of the company's customer base and profile.  Tyler is a third-generation funeral professional, growing up and working alongside his father at his family's Ohio-based funeral homes. He is the co-architect of the company's exclusive Outlook Relationship Management System (ORMS) and Outlook Strategic Marketing Partners Program (OSMP). Tyler graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.  

 Vice President of Sales is Mr. John T. Feher of Hinckley, Ohio. John holds an Ohio Funeral Director and Embalmer license and Ohio Life Insurance license. John attended Cleveland State University and received a B.A. Degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. In March 2003, Money Magazine highlighted John and his wife's experience as investors. John joined The Outlook Group, Inc. in 1997. During his tenure with the company, John has been the recipient of many national advance funeral planning sales achievement awards for outstanding service. Additionally, John has planned and conducted numerous company-wide sales seminars, which include a three-day event full of guest speakers, motivational themes, team building activities, and award ceremonies.

 

Advantage Regional Development Director is Mr. Christian Chambers of Columbus, Ohio. Christian holds an Ohio Funeral Director and Embalmer license. Christian received a B.A. degree from The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Christian joined The Outlook Group, Inc. in 1992 after working at-need at his family funeral home in Columbus, Ohio.
Christian started his tenure with the company doing personal pre-need sales production in the Columbus, Ohio area. This experience gives him a unique ability assisting funeral home owners, managers and pre-need sales professionals.

  

 

Training Director is Mrs. Candace Franco, C.P.C., B.S.N., M.H.A. of Kilmarnock, Virginia. Candace is a Certified Preplanning Consultant with eighteen years of experience in the field of Advance Funeral Planning.  Candace has worked with families on an individual basis planning their funerals.  In addition she has worked with funeral home owners and advance planners to develop and implement effective pre-need programs that meet the highest ethical standards.  Mrs. Franco has written numerous articles, conducted seminars for NFDA and state associations and provided continuing education courses for funeral directors, advance planners and financial planners.  For the last three years she has been the Director of The Academy, the training and education program for The Outlook Group, Inc., and has trained and worked closely with some of the most highly acclaimed pre-need planners in the funeral industry.

Operations Director is Beverly Horstman of Carmel, Indiana. Prior to joining Outlook, Beverly owned and operated a marketing agency for 16 years that focused on building long-term relationships with funeral home partners. Her experience includes implementing proactive programs focusing on aftercare, preplanning, education, and design of database tracking systems. She shares, "I am so pleased to be a part of the Outlook team. This company's commitment to building ethical, value-based relationships while providing innovative support services is so important. With the ever-changing needs of our profession, I appreciate being part of a company whose vision continues to focus on how to better serve funeral homes and their families." Prior to working in the funeral profession, Beverly was in the role of Marketing Director for various companies in the field of computers, architecture, and manufacturing.  Beverly and her husband Bill have lived in Indiana since 1987.  

Regional Development Directors

Regional Development Director - Ohio is Mr. Everett Collins of Grove City, Ohio.  Everett works with funeral home owners to establish goals and objectives for their advance planning program; hires, trains, and motivates funeral professionals; and assures that established goals and objectives are met. Everett plans and facilitates monthly regional sales meetings, one-on-one coaching sessions, and individual training experiences in order to provide continuous coaching and education for a team of fifteen advance funeral planning professionals. He assures that all regional sales associates are compliant with industry rules and regulations and are up-to-date on changing industry standards and practices.  He has developed course materials and curriculum, and teaches an advanced level sales training course, Financial Aspects of Advance Funeral Planning, for all Outlook employees, Outlook affiliate funeral home employees, marketing partner employees and outside purchasers. 

Regional Development Director - Michigan is Mr. Thomas M. (Tom) Folkert of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Tom attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, where he majored in Sacred Music with an emphasis in voice and choral conducting.  During his college years, he worked at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home in Holland, Michigan and Yntema Funeral Home in Zeeland, Michigan. After completing his education he joined the staff of Langeland Family Funeral Homes in Kalamazoo, Michigan as Director of Preneed Marketing. In 1990, he accepted a position with Monumental Life Insurance Company as Regional Marketing Manager for the NSM Plan.  Following his work with Monumental Life, Tom worked for a Fortis Family as a representative in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the Ohio Valley region. In 2002, Tom returned to Langeland's in Kalamazoo as Director of Training and Development. Tom has also worked for a small acquisition company in North Carolina as Field Operations Manager and for a funeral home in Northern Illinois as Chief Operating Officer and General Manager. Tom has held the Certified Pre-planning Consultant certification and his work has been noted by Rick Buckingham, motivational speaker and author, in his book, Lifetime Tools - Lifetime Clients.

Regional Development Director - East Coast is Mr. Kent W. Tompkins of Dallastown, Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the company, Kent worked as a Senior Account Executive for Homesteaders Life Company serving Central Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. In this position, Kent built relationships with many funeral homes and prided himself on working to help develop successful advance planning programs. Kent got his start in the funeral service profession in 1988, going to work for his hometown funeral provider offering support services to the director and staff for more than ten years. Kent also has experience operating businesses as he was the former owner of five different medical related companies employing more than 45 people.  Kent enjoys traveling and competing in different forms of auto racing throughout the northeast.  According to Kent, "It is my belief that every family deserves to know about an option that will help make the worst day of their life a little easier."  He went on to add, "I'm so excited to be a part of the Outlook Group as I have worked with them for quite a few years now, and have seen the successful programs they have implemented within the funeral homes."

Regional Development Director - Wisconsin is Mrs. Teresa Westing, M.A. of McFarland, Wisconsin. Teresa holds a Bachelor's Degree in education from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a Master's Degree from the Leadership Institute of Seattle, City University, in Applied Behavioral Science with an emphasis in counseling and consulting. She has served organizations and families throughout her career in a number of roles including: behavioral health counselor, community speaker, program director and as a funeral pre-planning professional, and sales team trainer. Using a Family Systems approach, she has created an innovative method of helping funeral professionals for at-need, pre-need and continuing care services. Teresa reports, "The Outlook Group's quality emphasis on innovative training and continuing education, enduring relationships and high ethical practices match my values for serving families." Teresa and her husband, Dan enjoy exploring beautiful Wisconsin together.
